Château de PARENCHÈRE

❤❤❤❤ The Château, whose foundations were built in 1570 by Pierre de Parenchières, Sieur de Fourgoignières, is located in the far east of Bordeaux, at the gates of Périgord. The estate was renovated in 1958 by Raphaël Gazaniol. In January 2005, Per Landin, a great Swedish wine lover, in turn fell in love with the estate and the wines of Parenchère and decided to buy it. Today, the area of ​​the property is 188 ha in one piece and includes 69 ha of vines including 6 ha of white. The average age of the vineyard is 25 years, reaching 50 years for the oldest vines.

We begin the tasting with this Bordeaux Supérieur red Esprit de Parenchère 2018, presented in a heavy bottle, 80% Cabernet-Sauvignon and the rest in Merlot, whose aging takes place in oak barrels (90% new), during 12 months on fine lees, without racking and with micro-oxygenation, all giving this dense and complex wine, marked by notes of spices dominated by ripe black fruits and leather, an intense wine, with a full mouthfeel (€18 ).

Nice Bordeaux Supérieur 2018, 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet franc and 1% Malbec, of good structure, combining finesse and concentration, fragrant (blackcurrant, pepper), silky mouth, excellent development (7, €40).

More dense, the Bordeaux Supérieur red cuvée Raphaël 2018, 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet-Sauvignon, matured in barrels, intense in color, fragrant (fresh fruit, humus…), develops fullness and roundness (€11.40).

There is also the Bordeaux Clairet rosé 2020, 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, pellicular maceration, of deep color, all in flexibility, successful (€6.80), the Bordeaux rosé La Roseraie 2020, him, all in lightness , light in color, at the same price, and the Bordeaux red L’Équilibriste 2020, without sulfites, 60% Cabernet franc, 40% Merlot, with well-melted tannins, a bouquet where notes of very ripe red berries and liquorice (€9). And finally the dry white Bordeaux 2020, 70% Sauvignon, 20% Sémillon and 10% Muscadelle, where we find nuances of ripe grapes and citrus fruits, with an ample and warm mouthfeel (€7).
